Soho is London’s physical, social and cultural heart. That also makes it very touristy, over crowded and noisy! However its biggest redeeming features are its incredible cafes, and some great restaurants.
In the 20th century Soho became known for its sex shops and its night life. In the 1980s real transformation and development occurred in the area when media offices, trendy bars and restaurants moved in.
But however much the area has been developed Soho still keeps its bohemian and non-conformist feel. It is now the centre of London’s gay scene, and maintains its reputation as an area to indulge in some serious drinking.
